Floors

Interior Uses

  • Polished - This is most likely the most popular use of concrete as a flooring look, the polished look provides a clean uniform look, but the polished floor may be slippery, unlike other types.

  • Brushed - The brushed look gives the impression of a more natural outdoor look. This look also increases the slip resistance which can be lost or deceased in other flooring looks.

  • Stamped - The stamped look is the most varying option, as the pattern used in the flooring can be almost anything, although the most common look is an outdoor stone look.

  • Exposed Aggregate - The exposed aggregate look is again a very versatile flooring type, you can dye the concrete a different color and use various types of aggregate to give the desired design.

  • Stained - Stained concrete is the same process as polished concrete but before the concrete is poured the powder is dyed to change the final color of the concrete floor.

Concrete Floors

Concrete flooring is a popular option for heavy-use areas, due to its durability, long life span, low cost, and ease of maintenance. You can give many different looks to make concrete floors more applicable in a more creative sense. The common concrete flooring looks stained, painted, polished, stamped, exposed aggregate, and brushed. Most of these flooring types need to be waxed to keep the polished, clean look. While the concrete won't scratch at daily use the wax coating will. Over time the concrete will start to crack, which will require the floor to be sealed, patched, polished, and sealed to give it the same look before the crack formed.
